RN Nurse Manager - Labor and Delivery
About the Role

Holy Cross Health, a member of Trinity Health, seeks a dedicated RN Nurse Manager to lead our Labor & Delivery team, fostering a culture of respect, collaboration, and clinical excellence. This frontline leadership role focuses on supporting staff, strengthening communication, and ensuring safe, patient‑centered care in a high‑acuity maternity setting.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support L&D nursing staff and charge nurses in daily operations.
- Ensure safe staffing, scheduling, and patient assignments.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Address employee concerns with respect, fairness, and transparency.
- Foster open, clear communication across the care team.
- Communicate changes, priorities, and expectations with clarity and consistency.
- Oversee patient flow and throughput in a busy L&D unit.
- Support adherence to AWHONN/ACOG standards and best practices.
- Monitor quality, safety, and patient experience outcomes.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and safe care delivery.
Qualifications
- RN license (Maryland or Compact State).
- BSN required (MSN preferred).
- 3+ years Labor & Delivery experience.
- 1–3 years leadership experience (Charge RN, Supervisor, or Manager).
Compensation
Base salary equivalent of $41.46 – $64.31 per hour, paid according to experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the stated hourly range, which may vary by location.
