RN Nurse Manager - Labor and Delivery
This is a full-time leadership position in our Labor and Delivery unit at Providence Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, CA. About the role
Under general direction, and in accordance with the State of California Nurse Practice Act, and the goals, objectives and strategic plan of the organization, you will provide leadership, plan, organize, and supervise personnel; manage, report on, and provide resources for the Labor and Delivery unit. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of best practices for quality delivery of care and patient safety in the Labor and Delivery unit, serve as a knowledgeable resource to staff, and demonstrate the ability to lead and communicate effectively with physicians, other department managers, and staff.
This dynamic environment includes opportunities to care for laboring patients, circulate in the OR, provide PACU services, and manage high-risk postpartum and OB triage patients seen for emergent conditions. The unit also features a Level 3 NICU caring for high-risk infants.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, planning, and supervision of personnel in the Labor and Delivery unit.
- Manage, report on, and provide resources for unit operations.
- Ensure quality delivery of care and patient safety in accordance with best practices.
- Serve as a resource to staff and communicate effectively with physicians, department managers, and team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
- California Registered Nurse License (upon hire).
- National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association (upon hire).
- 4 years of supervisory experience as a registered nurse in an acute care hospital.
- Experience in Labor & Delivery nursing.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $74.54 - $117.65 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
