About the role
The Nurse Manager is a full-time leadership position reporting to the Executive Director or Director. This role maintains 24-hour accountability in planning, managing, controlling, and organizing comprehensive, safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. They assist in the administration of budgetary functions and coordinate the daily operations and clinical practice of the assigned service areas.
Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains standards of care and unit policies and procedures.
- Adheres to the ANA Nurse Administration Scope & Standards of Practice.
- Coordinates the daily operations and clinical practice of the assigned service areas.
- Maintains 24-hour accountability in planning, managing, controlling, and organizing comprehensive, safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
- Aids in the administration of budgetary functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Master's Degree in Nursing or related field.
- Internal Candidates: Enrolled in healthcare or business-related Master's program at time of hire and obtained within 3 years from date of hire.
- External Candidates: Degree at time of hire.
- Upon hire: California Registered Nurse License.
- Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
- Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Certification in nursing administration, management, or specialty area as approved by American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Magnet.
Qualifications
- 5 years clinical experience in Acute Care including 2 years in specialty area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Upon hire: Second National Certification in specialty area or Professional Certification in Nursing Administration or Management, as approved by American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Magnet.
