RN - Nurse Manager
About the role
The Inpatient Nurse Manager at MercyOne Medical Center oversees multiple units including the Medical-Surgical Unit, Special Care Unit, Care Coordination, and Hospitalist team. This is a full-time leadership position where you will shape clinical excellence, drive performance improvement, and mentor a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage inpatient nursing operations across multiple units.
- Oversee care coordination and collaborate with hospitalists to ensure seamless patient care.
- Develop and implement performance improvement plans and unit budgets.
- Foster a culture of safety, evidence-based practice, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Mentor and support nursing staff, promoting professional development and high-quality care.
- Serve as a clinical resource and role model for staff and providers.
- Represent the department in hospital committees and management meetings as needed.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Iowa or compact state.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred (or actively pursuing).
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in acute care or related settings.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- BLS certification (or obtained within 3 months of hire).
- Completion of Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
