Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland, Wyoming is offering a $12,500 hire-on bonus and $20,000 relocation assistance for this role.

About the role

We are looking for a full-time RN New Graduate to join the Med/Surg Team. This position is 36 hours per week, working nights from 6:00 pm to 6:30 am. Platte County Memorial Hospital offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient services, including an Outpatient Clinic with over 20 regional physicians across nine specialties.

Wheatland is a close-knit community located 70 miles north of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and within easy driving distance of Denver, Colorado. The area offers abundant recreational opportunities, including lakes, Laramie Peak, and Medicine Bow National Forest.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
  • Review patient history, diagnostics, and laboratory data; report abnormal results to physicians and caregivers.
  • Formulate, implement, and revise a plan of care based on assessment data, patient/family input, and medical plans.
  • Provide direct patient care, coordinate and delegate care activities, and supervise other licensed nurses and personnel.
  • Promote continuity of care through accurate and complete communication with other caregivers.
  • Evaluate patient and family responses to care, teaching, and progress toward goals; revise the plan of care as needed.
  • Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record in accordance with policy.
  • Provide care based on best evidence and participate in research activities within clinical practice.
  • Participate in unit or facility shared leadership, education, orientation, and mentoring of staff, patients, students, and families.
  • Contribute to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care; may include participation in professional organizations.
  • Interact with staff across departments, physicians, patients, families, external agencies, and clergy to support patient care.
  • Synthesize and prioritize data from multiple sources to support patient and family responses to health status changes.

Requirements

  • Current, valid RN license in the state of practice, temporary/interim RN license, or compact RN licensure.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
  • Experience in the clinical area is desired; must maintain clinical performance competencies.
  • For Banner Registry and Travel positions: minimum one year of acute care experience in the specialty area within the past 12 months.
  • For Home Health settings: valid driver’s license, active auto insurance, and ability to operate a personal vehicle.
  • For Behavioral Health roles serving children in Arizona: Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required at hire and maintained throughout employment; Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.
  • For Banner Home Care AZ or BSS Behavioral Health roles in Arizona: Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card or State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Professional certification in a relevant specialty.
