About the role

As a Registered Nurse in the Neuro ICU, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn—whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental requirements and state/specialty standards of practice.
• Collaborates with medical providers and care team members to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.”
• Serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, modeling commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support exceptional patient experiences and clinical outcomes.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers.
• Documents patient care in the medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures.
• Translates complex medical terminology to ensure understanding.
• Educates patients and caregivers on non-medicinal follow-up measures such as diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
• Prepares patients and families for future self-management.
• Manages evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures.
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver holistic patient treatment plans that promote recovery.

Requirements

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing.
