Responsibilities
- Accomplishes the mission of Northern Arizona Healthcare by coordinating care for patients and their families.
- Provides direct care, patient and family education, and discharge planning.
- Follows the nursing process (assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating) to deliver care.
- Leads and mentors ancillary personnel, serves as a preceptor, and participates in the healthcare team.
- Practices within the ANA Scope of Practice, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, and specialty standards.
Education
- Participates in creating and sustaining a learning environment.
- Focuses on personal development and engages in professional/collegial interactions.
- Collaborates with peers and other health care providers, and participates in ongoing in-service and educational seminars.
- Mentors and educates colleagues and students.
Compliance/Safety
- Adheres to regulatory and organizational standards affecting patient care and safety.
- Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies.
- Completes all company mandatory modules and required job specific training in the specified time frame.
- Maintains timely and accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, EMR entries, and patient responses.
- Reports any safety-related incidents in a timely manner through the Midas/RDE tool.
- Attends all safety-related training programs.
- Performs work in a safe manner.
- Maintains a safe work environment and monitors for potential safety issues.
