Responsibilities

• Accomplishes the mission of Northern Arizona Healthcare by coordinating care for patients and their families.
• Provides direct care, patient and family education, and discharge planning.
• Follows the nursing process (assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating) to deliver care.
• Leads and mentors ancillary personnel, serves as a preceptor, and participates in the healthcare team.
• Practices within the ANA Scope of Practice, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, and specialty standards.

Education

• Participates in creating and sustaining a learning environment.
• Focuses on personal development and engages in professional/collegial interactions.
• Collaborates with peers and other health care providers, and participates in ongoing in-service and educational seminars.
• Mentors and educates colleagues and students.

Compliance/Safety

• Adheres to regulatory and organizational standards affecting patient care and safety.
• Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies.
• Completes all company mandatory modules and required job specific training in the specified time frame.
• Maintains timely and accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, EMR entries, and patient responses.
• Reports any safety-related incidents in a timely manner through the Midas/RDE tool.
• Attends all safety-related training programs.
• Performs work in a safe manner.
• Maintains a safe work environment and monitors for potential safety issues.
