About the role
Jersey College is seeking a RN Mental Health Instructor - Clinical to join our dedicated team. This position provides clinical instruction at various healthcare settings and focuses on fostering students' academic growth and professional development.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical instruction at long-term care, sub-acute, and acute clinical sites.
- Create a clinical environment that supports students' academic growth and professional development.
- Prepare and submit student progress reports and grade reports.
- Maintain accurate and timely attendance records.
- Evaluate student competence based on program philosophy and objectives.
- Implement evaluation devices to measure student learning and clinical experience.
- Attend faculty meetings.
- Maintain professional qualifications as a Registered Nurse Instructor through participation in continuing education programs, in-service training, and academic courses.
- Perform other duties as required by the program director, program dean, or campus administration.
Skills & Abilities
- Create and maintain relationships with students and colleagues.
- Be motivated, self-directed, and a team player.
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Organize and prioritize workflow effectively.
- Supervise students in the clinical environment.
- Deliver lessons at the level of an RN or PN student.
- Be knowledgeable and experienced in the area of nursing specialty.
- Have relevant experience as a Registered Nurse that contributes to student learning.
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree required.
- Valid State RN license required.
- Minimum of 3 years recent experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.
