About the role

Jersey College is seeking a RN Mental Health Instructor - Clinical to join our dedicated team. This position provides clinical instruction at various healthcare settings and focuses on fostering students' academic growth and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical instruction at long-term care, sub-acute, and acute clinical sites.
  • Create a clinical environment that supports students' academic growth and professional development.
  • Prepare and submit student progress reports and grade reports.
  • Maintain accurate and timely attendance records.
  • Evaluate student competence based on program philosophy and objectives.
  • Implement evaluation devices to measure student learning and clinical experience.
  • Attend faculty meetings.
  • Maintain professional qualifications as a Registered Nurse Instructor through participation in continuing education programs, in-service training, and academic courses.
  • Perform other duties as required by the program director, program dean, or campus administration.

  • Create and maintain relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Be motivated, self-directed, and a team player.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Organize and prioritize workflow effectively.
  • Supervise students in the clinical environment.
  • Deliver lessons at the level of an RN or PN student.
  • Be knowledgeable and experienced in the area of nursing specialty.
  • Have relevant experience as a Registered Nurse that contributes to student learning.

Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree required.
  • Valid State RN license required.
  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.
