About the Role
Provides direct nursing care in a medical-surgical unit specializing in urology, GI, vascular surgeries, wound care, pediatrics, orthopedics, and trauma.
Responsibilities
- Apply standards of medical-surgical nursing to enhance patient care and quality of life.
- Establish effective relationships and advocate for patients and families.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans using the nursing process.
- Assess physical, cultural, social, and spiritual factors influencing health.
- Collaborate with inter-professional teams and communicate effectively.
- Educate patients and families on health measures and promote wellness.
- Mentor colleagues and apply evidence-based practices.
- Perform point of care testing and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Valid RN license and BLS certification for the respective state.
- No prior experience required.
Physical Demands
- Frequent walking, standing, lifting, and data entry.
- Sensory skills including vision, hearing, and smell.
- Occasional patient lifting/movement and driving.
Schedule
Variable shifts with a minimum requirement of two shifts per month, including one weekend and one holiday if available.
