RN Medical Surgical PRN

About the Role

Provides direct nursing care in a medical-surgical unit specializing in urology, GI, vascular surgeries, wound care, pediatrics, orthopedics, and trauma.

Responsibilities

• Apply standards of medical-surgical nursing to enhance patient care and quality of life.
• Establish effective relationships and advocate for patients and families.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans using the nursing process.
• Assess physical, cultural, social, and spiritual factors influencing health.
• Collaborate with inter-professional teams and communicate effectively.
• Educate patients and families on health measures and promote wellness.
• Mentor colleagues and apply evidence-based practices.
• Perform point of care testing and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Valid RN license and BLS certification for the respective state.
• No prior experience required.

Physical Demands

• Frequent walking, standing, lifting, and data entry.
• Sensory skills including vision, hearing, and smell.
• Occasional patient lifting/movement and driving.

Schedule

Variable shifts with a minimum requirement of two shifts per month, including one weekend and one holiday if available.
