About the role
As an Acute Care Registered Nurse, you will deliver the highest quality patient care according to each patient’s individual physician orders while working in both Medical Surgical and the ER. You will educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits. Success in this role comes from a patient-first mindset, keen assessment skills, critical thinking, and a sense of urgency. This position offers a dynamic clinical environment where each day presents new challenges. You will thrive by demonstrating top-notch clinical skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and patient education abilities are essential.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients’ conditions and assess their needs
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
- Administer medications and provide treatments according to physicians’ orders
- Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in North Dakota or a compact state
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certifications
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire
- Previous Emergency Room (ER) experience is highly preferred
Where You'll Work
CHI Oakes Hospital is a 20-bed critical access hospital providing various inpatient and outpatient services to approximately 14,000 people in southeastern North Dakota. It is a 24-Hour Emergency Level V Trauma Center. The hospital building was newly constructed in 2007, and in 2010, Oakes Community Clinic was opened within the hospital. CHI Oakes Hospital is part of CommonSpirit Health, a larger values-based organization.

$34.00 - $50.58 /hour
