RN, Medical Specialty - FT, Nights
Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Observation Unit. As an experienced RN on this team, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of patient care processes, conditions, and diagnoses. This position will give you the opportunity to learn and expand your nursing skills. You will be supported by leading technology and our virtual nurse team who will provide assistance for floor nurses with oversight, education, documentation, and monitoring to ensure the patients receive exceptional care.
About the role
Functions independently and is accountable for utilizing the nursing process. Coordinates the care for a group of patients with the Multidisciplinary Team. Delegates tasks appropriately, identifies hospital resources, and serves as a clinical resource for new employees. Demonstrates positive formal or informal leadership within the unit or department.
Responsibilities
- Function independently and be accountable for utilizing the nursing process
- Coordinate the care for a group of patients with the Multidisciplinary Team
- Perform patient care, delegate patient care tasks, and supervise other patient care staff
- Coordinate the plan of care for a group of assigned patients and consult with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Demonstrate proficiency and abide by policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures
- Work autonomously while supporting teammates through collaboration
- Anticipate the needs of patients and others on the team
Requirements
- 1 year of applicable experience
- Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- Registered Nurse license
- Associate Degree in Nursing
