RN - Med/Surg & Telemetry

About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic Lutheran Hospital’s 4D unit, a Complex Medical Care and Telemetry unit known for its collaborative environment, focus on nursing education, and patient care initiatives. As an RN you will care for adult patients with a variety of diagnoses and provide world‑class care for the medical needs of behavioral health patients. You will interact directly with patients, families, and visitors, helping them feel comfortable, safe, and secure throughout treatment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.

Minimum qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• One year of current acute care RN experience or military RN experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within three years.

Physical requirements

Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Must stand and walk for extended periods, have corrected vision and hearing to normal range, and work under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids is expected. Medium work – exerting 20–50 lb occasionally, 10–25 lb frequently, or up to 10 lb constantly. Physical demand exceeds Light Work. Personal protective equipment is used per standard precautions.

Schedule

Night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.

Pay

Minimum hourly: $35.50 – Maximum hourly: $55.60. The range reflects anticipated new‑hire compensation and does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (healthcare, dental, vision, retirement savings contributions, etc.).
