RN - Med/Surg and Telemetry
About the Role
Join Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital, a Magnet Hospital awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and provide stellar care on the 6 North/South Med/Surg and Telemetry Units. These units deliver comprehensive care for adults (18+) with medical and surgical diagnoses in a warm, comforting healing environment. As an RN, you will interact directly with patients and families, delivering exceptional care, education, and support throughout the patient journey.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Maintain professional growth through ongoing education and clinical nursing study.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- If in a Critical Care area, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through AHA must be presented upon hire or within the first year.
- External applicants: two years of recent related nursing experience.
- Internal applicants: less than two years of experience, but post-orientation/90-day probationary period considered with Chief Nursing Officer approval.
- Military RN experience considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements
- Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly.
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay
Pay range for new hires: $43.00 per hour. Actual compensation will consider work history, experience, skill set, and education. The range does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of benefits (e.g., healthcare, dental, vision, retirement contributions).
Schedule
This is a regular PRN position with a day/night rotation between 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
