RN - Med/Surg Nights

About the role

Provides direct and indirect patient care in various clinical settings, collaborating with healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes. Utilizes critical thinking, nursing processes, and compassionate care to deliver high-quality services while respecting patient autonomy and dignity. Capable of performing general nursing duties, patient education, and prioritizing care. Additionally, assists physicians with procedures and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition accurately and administer prescribed medications.
• Provide age-appropriate care including basic self-care activities.
• Develop and evaluate patient and family education plans.
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and assist with medical procedures.
• Identify psychosocial needs and coordinate post-discharge support.
• Practice cost-effective resource utilization and promote patient safety.
• Commit to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• Computer literacy required; ACLS/PALS certifications preferred.
