Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical Unit, Night ShiftJob Description A hospital in Duncan, Oklahoma is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join its Medical-Surgical Unit on the night shift. In this role, you provide direct, comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team focused on delivering exceptional patient outcomes. You use your clinical expertise, critical thinking, and strong communication skills to assess, treat, and support patients throughout their stay on the unit. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to Medical-Surgical patients throughout the night shift, ensuring safe and compassionate treatment.Assess and monitor patient conditions regularly, recognizing and reporting changes in status promptly.Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and interventions accurately and in accordance with clinical protocols.Respond to changes in patient status, initiate appropriate nursing interventions, and communicate effectively with providers and the care team.Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, case management, and other healthcare professionals, to support coordinated care and quality outcomes.Document all patient care, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record (EMR), including use of Epic if applicable.Perform triage activities as needed, prioritizing patient needs and allocating resources appropriately.Participate in managed care and case management processes to support effective discharge planning and continuity of care.Work both independently and as part of a team to manage a varied patient caseload on the Medical-Surgical unit.Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and clinical standards to maintain a safe and trusted care environment. Essential Skills Active and unrestricted Oklahoma Registered Nurse (RN) license.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Demonstrated ability to provide direct nursing care to Medical-Surgical patients.Strong skills in patient assessment, monitoring, and clinical decision-making.Ability to administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.Experience documenting care in an electronic medical record (EMR), including Epic.Capability to respond quickly and appropriately to changes in patient status.Effective communication skills for collaborating with providers and interdisciplinary team members.Ability to work independently during night shifts while contributing positively to a team environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.Prior experience working on a Medical-Surgical unit preferred.Experience with case management and managed care processes is beneficial.Background in triage and care management in a hospital setting is an advantage.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and care planning. Work Environment This is an onsite, hospital-based position in Duncan, Oklahoma on a Medical-Surgical unit during the night shift. You work within a trusted acute-care environment, using an electronic medical record system, such as Epic, to document and coordinate patient care. The setting is fast-paced and collaborative, with an interdisciplinary team focused on high-quality outcomes and patient safety. Nurses follow hospital clinical standards and policies while maintaining professional attire appropriate for a hospital environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Duncan, OK. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
