Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains patient care, including diet and physical activities.
- Communicates with physicians, co-workers, and patients as needed.
- Prepares patients for examinations and treatments.
- Performs head-to-toe assessments and reassessments as required.
- Adequately assesses and interprets pain, educates patients on pain management.
- Performs waived testing, draws blood, and interprets lab results.
- Makes decisions based on patient data and identifies care needs.
- Administers medications safely, manages central and PICC lines, performs CPR.
- Keeps patient records updated and documents treatments.
- Assists with emergency nursing procedures and patient advocacy.
- Ensures patient safety and follows departmental protocols.
- Collaborates with other departments and staff.
- Updates census tables, verifies temperature logs, oversees dietary services.
- Follows emergency response and transfer protocols.
- Supervises staff and ensures patient assignments and room assignments.

Professional Requirements
- Maintains dress code and completes annual education requirements.

Advanced Orthopedic and Spine Certification Requirements
- Four (4) hours of education specific to the Program scope initially and annually thereafter.
- Adaptability to processes, collaboration, compliance, communication, and exceptional customer service.
- Orientation and education requirements within 90 days of hire or signing the job description.
Regulatory Requirements
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
- Current state Registered Nurse Licensure.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- PALS certification recommended.
Skills
- Effective communication in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer knowledge.
Physical Demands
- Regularly talks and hears.
- Very active, requires repetitive motions, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
- Frequently lifts or moves items weighing up to 50 pounds.
