About the Role

Responsible and accountable for the clinical and personnel functions of assigned units. Assists in the development, implementation, and integration of performance improvement plans into unit practice. Ensures the implementation and maintenance of departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Assure compliance with all State and Federal laws in areas of responsibility.
• Ensure adherence to all JCAHO standards in areas of responsibility.
• Coordinate on-unit and department-specific education for nursing and ancillary staff.
• Assist leadership in ensuring staff competency, ongoing skills assessment, and opportunities for growth.
• Utilize nursing research and evidence-based practice in nursing as a model for quality initiatives and nursing excellence.
