About the role
The Nurse Manager creates a safe, efficient, and patient-centered environment by supervising front-line nursing and ancillary staff. They collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality care, patient safety, and staff satisfaction. The manager leads daily unit operations, coordinates staffing, and promotes a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Build and retain a skilled clinical team, develop action plans, and evaluate personnel performance.
- Set and achieve goals for patient safety, quality, and compliance, monitoring outcomes through audits and reports.
- Conduct rounds, coordinate care with physicians and staff, and address operational issues.
- Assess staffing needs, manage schedules, and ensure adequate coverage and throughput.
- Facilitate safe patient discharges, transfers, and emergency preparedness activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing required; Master’s preferred.
- RN licensure in the practice state required.
- Preferred experience includes leadership, acute care nursing, and relevant certifications.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and team-building skills.
