RN Manager
About the role
The RN Manager at Pediatrics Northwest leads and supports nursing teams to deliver safe, high-quality care. This role fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while aligning clinical operations with organizational goals.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision, coaching and development of nursing staff
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, training and retention efforts to build a strong, engaged team
- Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and patient-centered care
- Conduct regular staff meetings, rounding, and engagement initiatives
- Serves as Safety Committee Chair, participates in practice meetings and workgroups as needed
Clinical Operations
- Oversee day-to-day clinical workflows to ensure efficiency and high-quality care delivery
- Maintain staffing levels, scheduling, and productivity to meet patient demand
- Partner with providers and interdisciplinary teams to improve care coordination
- Manage clinical equipment and medication ordering
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance patient experience and throughput
- Serve as a clinical resource for complex patient care situations and triage decisions
- Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Operations on strategic planning and implementation of practice initiatives
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to evidence-based pediatric guidelines, clinical standards of care, policies, and regulatory requirements
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and implement best practices
- Support audits, compliance and risk management activities
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous quality improvement
- Investigate and resolve clinical incidents, ensuring appropriate documentation and follow-up
- Ensure clinical compliance including, but not limited to, OSHA, hazardous materials, material data safety sheets, blood borne pathogens, exposure control plan fire safety and disaster preparedness
Administrative Oversight
- Manage departmental budgets, including labor, supplies and medication orders
- Monitor productivity and implement cost-control strategies while maintaining quality of care
- Support strategic planning and execution of departmental and organizational initiatives
- Ensure accurate documentation, reporting and data integrity
Education and Experience
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree (MSN, MHA, or related field) preferred
A minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and quality improvement processes.
Typical Working Conditions
Prolonged sitting, some bending, some lifting, stooping and stretching.
Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, scanner, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
Must have an appropriate range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
Normal medical office environment.
