RN/LPN Wound Care Nurse

About the role

NHC HealthCare Maryland Heights is hiring a full-time RN or LPN as a Wound Care Nurse. The qualified nurse will assess and evaluate patients with wounds, colostomies, and injuries, ensuring optimum patient care delivery in wound care nursing procedures. This role includes providing education to prevent pressure ulcers and infections, coordinating care with other health professionals, and some on-call duties. Wound Care certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clinical competency as evidenced by application of integrated nursing knowledge and skills, leadership, and communication skills.
• Utilize the nursing process in assessment, planning, and implementing care.
• Exhibit organizational ability related to workflow, prioritizing to meet patient care needs.
• Integrate current standards of practice as well as local, state, and federal regulations related to nursing services in patient care.
• Maintain open and ongoing communication with patients and families regarding wound status, encouraging participation in decision-making.
• Fulfill all Wound Care Nurse duties as described in the full job description.
• Fulfill unit manager duties and additional duties assigned by the Director of Nursing (DON).

Requirements

• Maintain a current unencumbered LPN or RN license for the State of Missouri.
• Wound Care certification preferred.
• Ability to meet performance and physical demands as described in the full job description.

Schedule

Dayshift, Monday - Friday, with on-call duties required.
