About the Role
As a Charge Nurse at Miller’s, you are responsible for the nursing care of the patients on your shift. You follow the Comprehensive Care Plan for your patients and assist the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate documentation in the patient record when needed. You supervise the direct resident care personnel on your shift.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients on your shift following the Comprehensive Care Plan.
- Assist the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate documentation in the patient record.
- Supervise direct resident care personnel on your shift.
- Administer medication and understand possible side effects and treatment administration.
- Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to resident care.
Requirements
- Currently licensed and registered to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Indiana.
- Successfully complete pre-employment process and screening.
- Pass the physical examination required for gainful employment within the facility.
- Professional manner and appearance.
- Competent in supervision and leadership.
- Caring attitude and observant nature.
- Ability to foster and maintain a good working relationship with other staff.
- Good judgement and emotional stability.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of nursing policies and procedures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices.
- Understanding of the physical, psychological, social, and medical needs of residents.
- Familiarity with the organizational structure and duties of employees under the supervision of the unit manager.
Work Environment
Exposure Category I: Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
