RN / LPN - Nurse

About the role

As a Charge Nurse at Miller's, you are responsible for the nursing care of the patients on your shift. You follow the Comprehensive Care Plan for your patients and assist the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate documentation in the patient record when needed. You supervise the direct resident care personnel on your shift.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Comprehensive Care Plan for patients.
• Absorb and apply nursing policies and procedures.
• Administer medication, understand possible side effects, and ensure proper treatment administration.
• Comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to resident care.
• Show comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices, including the physical, psychological, social, and medical needs of residents.
• Understand and adhere to organizational structure and employee duties under the supervision of the Unit Manager.
• Exercise competent supervision and leadership skills.
• Show a caring attitude and maintain good judgement and emotional stability.
• Foster and maintain positive relationships with other staff members.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed and registered to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Indiana.
• Successfully complete the pre-employment process and screening.
• Pass the physical examination given in behalf of gainful employment within the facility.
• Show professional manner and appearance.

Job Knowledge

• Nursing policies and procedures.
• Administration of medication, possible side effects, and treatment administration.
• Laws and regulations pertaining to resident care.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices.
• Physical, psychological, social, and medical needs of residents.
• Organizational structure and duties of employees under supervision of unit manager.
