RN / LPN - Nurse

About the role

As a Charge Nurse at Miller’s, you are responsible for the nursing care of the patients on your shift. You follow the Comprehensive Care Plan for your patients and assist the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate documentation in the patient record when needed. You supervise the direct resident care personnel on your shift.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Comprehensive Care Plan for patients.
• Absorb and apply nursing policies and procedures.
• Administer medication, understand possible side effects, and adhere to treatment protocols.
• Comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to resident care.
• Show comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices, including the physical, psychological, social, and medical needs of residents.
• Understand and manage the organizational structure and duties of employees under the supervision of the Unit Manager.
• Display competent supervisory and leadership skills.
• Show a caring attitude and maintain good judgment and emotional stability.
• Communicate effectively and maintain positive relationships with other staff members.
• Ensure adherence to infection control measures, particularly those involving exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues (Exposure Category I).

Requirements

• Currently licensed and registered to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Indiana.
• Successfully complete the pre-employment process and screening.
• Pass the physical examination required for gainful employment within the facility.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
