About the role

The RN's practice is guided by the ANA Standard for Professional Nurse and Code of Ethics. The RN has knowledge of professional nursing principles, practices, concepts, and procedures as applied to the care of the patient population served. The RN records patients' medical history and symptoms, helps perform diagnostic tests and analyze results, operates medical equipment, administers treatment and medications, and assists with patient follow-up and rehabilitation. The RN establishes or contributes to a care plan, teaches patients and families about managing illnesses or injuries, and provides direction to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides.

Responsibilities

• Collect health data systematically, prioritizing based on the patient’s immediate condition or needs, involving the family.
• Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and develop, implement, evaluate, and revise an appropriate patient plan of care that is family-centered, developmentally and age-appropriate, and culturally relevant.
• Identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient and their specific health problems.
• Develop individualized plans of care reflecting current nursing practice that is evidence-based, ensuring continuity of care.
• Implement interventions in the plan of care, including treatments, medications, emergency and resuscitative measures based on standing orders, policies, and procedures.
• Provide nursing care to meet physical, emotional, spiritual, and social-cultural needs of the patient and family using a family-centered approach.
• Evaluate the patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes and document observations, interventions, and monitoring data.
• Provide ongoing evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of the care plan to enhance patient outcomes and promote cost-effective, high-quality healthcare.
• Evaluate one’s own nursing practice in relation to professional standards, statutes, and regulations, maintaining current knowledge in nursing practice.
• Integrate ethical principles in all aspects of practice and enhance knowledge of cultural and diversity needs for specific populations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care delivery.
• Collaborate with the patient, family, and other healthcare providers in providing care.
• Develop and evaluate evidence-based standards of care for patients and identify changes to improve nursing practice.
• Participate in and use evidence-based research to improve nursing practice and patient outcomes.
• Design, create, and apply research to support integration into practice.
• Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and delivering patient care, utilizing resources efficiently.
• Precept new hire staff and students, assisting them in completing competency skills.
• Support efforts to advance clinical knowledge and skills.

Requirements

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing (All Diploma and ADN hires must complete a BSN within 60 months of hire OR have 5+ years of Registered Nurse experience at the time of hire).
• Bachelors in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• 1+ year of RN experience in med-surg or acute specialty setting (required for Float Positions).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• State and/or Compact State Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Arizona (upon hire).
• National certification for unit-specific patient population (preferred).

Schedule

• 3x12-hour day shifts.
• Call requirement: must live within a 30-minute radius of the facility.

Pay

$20,000 sign-on bonus available.
