Job Summary and Responsibilities

  • Patient Satisfaction: Is a role model for the Hospital's Patient Satisfaction effort, i.e. demonstrates AIDET principles when interacting with customers, subordinates and colleagues.
  • Greets the patient, establishes patient identity, thoroughly explains the procedure to the patient and verifies the consent form is current, accurate, appropriate and in conjunction with Department and Medical Center's policies. Practices age-specific awareness when interacting with patients of various age groups.
  • Verifies the completion or existence of the patient's plan of care and reassesses the patient and continues or modifies the plan of care in accordance with changes in the patient's condition, diagnosis, needs and or outcomes in accordance with the patient's age related and developmental needs.
  • Verifies completed lab results, documents results on the patient's chart and notifies the physician of any abnormal results.
  • Sets up the special procedure's suite in accordance with the Medical Center's aseptic techniques and infection control guidelines.

Requirements

  • California Registered Nurse license, upon hire
  • Three to five years of current acute medical-surgical experience and critical care or emergency department experience, upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire
