About the role

The Interventional Radiology (IR) Nurse, under the ANA scope of practice, utilizes the nursing process to provide professional nursing care incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The IR Nurse delivers quality care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Beaumont policies and procedures, working within a multi-disciplinary team to provide specialized care across the IR care continuum (Pre/Intra/Post Lab) using critical thinking and excellent communication.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care within the Interventional Radiology department.
  • Incorporate patient-family centered care principles into practice.
  • Deliver quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader.
  • Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Demonstrate specialized care across the IR care continuum (Pre/Intra/Post Lab).
  • Utilize critical thinking and excellent communication skills.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent from an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, A.D.N., B.S.N., M.S.N., DNP/PhD).
  • If not BSN-prepared at hire, new graduates or nurses with less than one year of experience must sign an educational contract to complete a BSN within a specified timeframe: enrollment in an accredited BSN program within one year of licensure and completion within four years (effective September 1, 2017).
  • Minimum of one year of acute care experience.
  • Required experience in Critical Care, Progressive Care, Interventional Radiology Lab, or Procedural/OR settings.
  • Active State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (upon hire).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC (upon hire).
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA (within 180 days of hire).
  • At least one specialty certification from the preferred list (within 2 years preferred).
