About the role

The RN's practice is guided by the ANA Standard for Professional Nurse and Code of Ethics. The RN has knowledge of professional nursing principles, practices, concepts, and procedures as applied to the care of the patient population served. The RN records patients' medical history and symptoms, helps perform diagnostic tests and analyze results, operates medical equipment, administers treatment and medications, and assists with patient follow-up and rehabilitation. The RN establishes or contributes to a care plan, teaches patients and families about managing illnesses or injuries, and provides direction to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides.

Responsibilities

  • Collect health data systematically, prioritizing as determined by the patient’s immediate condition, and involving the family.
  • Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and develop, implement, evaluate, and revise an appropriate patient plan of care that is family-centered, developmentally and age-appropriate, and culturally relevant.
  • Identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient and their specific health problems.
  • Develop plans of care that are evidence-based, providing for continuity of care.
  • Implement interventions in the plan of care, including treatments, medications, and emergency measures based on standing orders and policies.
  • Provide nursing care to meet physical, emotional, spiritual, and social-cultural needs using a family-centered approach.
  • Evaluate the patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes and document observations and interventions.
  • Provide ongoing evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of the care plan to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Evaluate one’s own nursing practice in relation to professional standards and maintain current knowledge.
  • Integrate ethical principles and enhance knowledge of cultural and diversity needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
  • Develop and evaluate evidence-based standards of care for patients and identify improvements using research.
  • Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and delivering patient care.
  • Precept new hire staff and students, assisting them in completing competency skills.
  • Support efforts to advance clinical knowledge and skills.

Requirements

  • Associates or Diploma in Nursing (All Diploma and ADN hires must complete a BSN within 60 months of hire OR have 5+ years of RN experience).
  • Bachelors in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • 1+ year of RN experience in med-surg or acute specialty setting (required for Float Positions).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona or compact state.
  • Must live within a 30-minute radius for call requirements.

Schedule

  • 4x10-hour shifts.
  • Call required.

Pay

$20,000 sign-on bonus available.
