About the Unit

The Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) is a 25-bed unit caring for a variety of patients under the critical care umbrella. This fast-paced cardiac unit monitors patients on telemetry, with acuity levels that can change rapidly. The IMC team collaborates to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care and fosters an environment of professional growth, innovation, and Nursing Excellence.

Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse with Corewell Health, you will:

• Use the nursing process framework and patient-family-centered care principles to provide top-notch patient care.
• Work under the direction of the Nurse Leader as a vital team member, making a difference in the lives of patients and their families.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent from an accredited school of nursing (required).
• Bachelor's Degree (B.S.N., M.S.N., or DNP/PhD) required if not minimum BSN-prepared. New graduates or nurses with less than one year of experience must enroll in an accredited BSN program within one year of licensure and complete it within five years (effective April 18, 2023).
• Graduates from non-accredited nursing programs must have at least one year of acute care experience or over two years of experience in a licensed healthcare role (e.g., LPN, EMT) and must have passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (required upon hire).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation (required upon hire).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required within 180 days for Critical Care, Emergency Care, Pre-Op and PACU, Radiology; required upon hire for Endoscopy).
• Specialty certification (required within 2 years).
• Additional certifications may be required based on unit:
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for Emergency Care (required within 1 year).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) for NICU, Family Birth Center, or Mother Baby Care (required within 180 days).
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification (C-EFM) for Family Birth Center (required within 1 year).
  • PALS for Pediatrics (required within 1 year) or Pre-Op and PACU (required within 180 days).
  • NIH Stroke Certification for Neuro ICU (required within 90 days).
