RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

About the role
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) consists of 28 beds in two connected 14-bed pods and is designed for high acuity patients who need critical care. Common procedures in this unit include bronchoscopy, endoscopy, emergent intubation, central line placement, continuous renal replacement therapy, pronation, and therapeutic hypothermia.
As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering healthcare information and enhancing their experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- One year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting (will consider military RN experience).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of employment.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements
- Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay
Minimum hourly: $35.50
Maximum hourly: $55.60
The pay range reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Actual compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education. The pay range does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.
Schedule
Nights, 7:00pm to 7:30am with every other weekend and holiday required.
