RN – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Here, you will be part of a collaborative, compassionate, and innovative team of caregivers working with state-of-the-art technology in the 24-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ICU provides the highest quality care for patients with complex acute and chronic health issues, addressing health needs from admission to transfer or discharge. As an RN, you will help patients return to health or provide comfort and support at the end of life, ensuring all patients feel encouraged, safe, and at ease during treatment.
A caregiver in this position works nights from 6:45 p.m. – 7:15 a.m., with weekend and holiday requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Evaluate, update, and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- ICU RN experience.
Physical Requirements
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
