RN – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

About the Role

Join Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital, a proud Magnet Hospital awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, recognized for excellence in professional nursing practice. As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will provide medical services for complex acute and chronic health issues, including trauma, high-risk obstetrics, sepsis, GI bleeds, and strokes. This role involves direct interaction with patients, families, and visitors to deliver exceptional care, offer healthcare information, and ensure quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in the ICU.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Evaluate, update, and revise plans of care to achieve expected outcomes.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and families using culturally appropriate materials.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing protocols.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting (military RN experience considered).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the AHA or American Red Cross (must be obtained within one year of employment if not already certified).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical Requirements

• Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Schedule

Rotating day/night shifts: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m., with every other weekend and holiday requirements.

Pay

Hourly pay range for new hires: $35.50 – $55.60. Actual compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education. This range does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental, vision, retirement contributions).
