RN- Inpatient Wound & Ostomy (PT Days)
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Captures patient health data and prioritizes assessments based on immediate conditions.
- Formulates nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes from assessments.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans.
- Delivers direct patient care, ensuring compliance with interventions and documentation.
- Evaluates patient progress and revises care plans as necessary.
- Provides patient and family education on WOC issues.
- Demonstrates proficiency in ostomy, wound, and continence management.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1 year clinical RN experience required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Graduation from an accredited WOCN program preferred; WOCN certification within 18 months of employment.
SPECIAL SKILL, LICENSE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Current Louisiana RN licensure.
HIPAA REQUIREMENTS
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations relevant to the job position, including medical records, patient demographics, lab and radiology results, surgical or appointment schedules, patient location information, religious beliefs, public health records, etc.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable safety practices relevant to the job position, including incident reporting, waste handling, sharps and linen management, personal protective equipment (PPE), exposure control plans, hand washing, environment of care, patient identification, and monitoring clinical alarms.
