About the role
We are seeking a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. This role involves effectively delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members; assuming accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibiting sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity; and maintaining involvement in activities aimed at achieving unit and departmental strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
- Achieves learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient, family, and group needs.
- Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, adapting explanations of services or procedures, requesting permissions, and communicating in a manner that enhances customer satisfaction and employee morale.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
This job requires a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. A bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred. No prior work experience is required. Necessary certifications include a current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice and a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Certification in a clinical specialty area is preferred.
Skills
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to demonstrate good judgment and be self-directed. Good interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
Knowledge of current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility. Ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations, and standards. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, adapting explanations of services or procedures, requesting permissions, and communicating in a manner that enhances customer satisfaction and employee morale.
