Description: POSITION DESCRIPTION: Provides professional nursing care for patients following established standards and practices. The RN III works in a capacity that requires advanced training, education, certification and/or leadership.
Essential Job Functions
- Performs Essential Job Functions from the Registered Nurse II job description at an advanced level.
- Utilizes advanced training and education to provide complex nursing care/specialty care.
- Proficient to work within scope of nursing certification that includes, but is not limited to lactation consulting, advanced wound/ostomy care, care/case management certification, diabetes educator or asthma educator certification.
- Serves as a nurse leader by assisting management team with hiring, motivating and engaging clinical staff.
- Identifies and targets at-risk patients who require extensive care to improve health outcomes.
- May conduct visits outside of the practice for defined populations.
- Collaborates with office leadership on the development and review of office/program clinical workflows to meet the needs of the patient population.
- Serves as a team leader in the absence of a manager and may support management duties.
- Performs/Assists with any projects, pilots, initiatives or duties as assigned and works within scope of RN licensure.

Essential Qualifications
- EDUCATION: BSN strongly preferred or graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program. Advanced certification/training relevant to specialty (e.g., AAACN, IBCLC) or graduate degree preferred.
- CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: Valid, unrestricted RN license in the State of Michigan, Valid CPR certification.
- MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years of clinical experience in ambulatory care or specialty, and/or demonstrated competency in IHA’s RN II position.
