RN - ICU (PCCU) - Days

Position Overview: The RN PCCU - Medical ICU provides compassionate, safe nursing care for adult patients in open heart surgery and neurosurgery units. They develop and evaluate individualized care plans, conduct patient assessments, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes. The role involves patient education tailored to cultural and learning needs, collaboration with colleagues, and support for professional development. The nurse may assist technical staff with procedures, participate in performance improvement and research activities, and monitor wound/ostomy care if qualified. Compliance with HIPAA is essential. Qualifications & Skills: Requires an Associate Degree in Nursing (or higher), active Illinois RN license, ACLS, and BLS certifications. A minimum of one year inpatient nursing experience is necessary. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree, ICU or ER experience, and specialized certifications such as CWON or CWCN. Experience in wound/ostomy care and knowledge of community resources are advantageous.
