RN - Critical Care (PCCU) - Days

About the Role

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Coronary Care Unit (PCCU) - Medical ICU, specializing in Open Heart Surgery and Neurosurgery Pods.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate patient care plans
• Assess health data and communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Provide education tailored to patient needs
• Support professional development of colleagues
• Offer psychological support to patients and families
• Assist with procedures and medication administration
• Participate in quality improvement and research activities
• Monitor wound/ostomy care if skilled
• Ensure HIPAA compliance
• Provide safe, compassionate care
• Collaborate with healthcare teams
• Contribute to performance improvement
• Support technical procedures and patient transport as needed

Requirements

• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred)
• Active Illinois RN license
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Minimum 1 year inpatient nursing experience

Preferred Qualifications

• ICU, ER, radiology, or wound/ostomy experience
• Certifications such as CWON or CWCN
