RN - ICU - Nights

About the role

A registered professional nurse responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Directs and guides patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Functions within the Nurse Practice Act of the State of New Mexico and Cibola General Hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the ICU or related unit.
• Direct and guide patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel.
• Adequately assess and care for antepartum, labor, delivery, recovery, and post-partum care.
• Perform newborn assessment and care.
• Maintain competency with sterile technique and operate within a sterile field.

Requirements

• Current New Mexico RN license or compact state RN license.
• Current BLS CPR certification.
• ACLS and PALS preferred.
• NRP certification within 9 months of hire (must remain current).
• Completion of fetal monitoring course within 6 months of hire (must remain current).
• Previous experience in ICU preferred.

Conditions of Employment

• Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check, reference checks, and a post-offer drug screen.
• Must be employment eligible as verified by the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the Government Services Administration (GSA).
• Annual tuberculin screening required.
• Hospital-required vaccinations and competencies.
• Must be able to meet the physical conditions of the position.

Cibola General Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital located in Grants, NM, one hour from Albuquerque and close to Santa Fe. The hospital offers services in general surgery, 24-hour emergency care, intensive care, internal medicine, obstetrics, pathology, pediatric dentistry, podiatry, primary care, radiology (X-ray, CT, MRI), three operating rooms (including a scope room), clinics, lab services, pharmacy, cardiopulmonary, rehab, and skilled care beds.
