About the role
The Staff RN under the Charge Nurse's supervision provides professional nursing care using the nursing process. They assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, serving as a patient advocate.
Responsibilities
- Conducts an ongoing assessment of patients, applying physiological and psychological principles to guide care.
- Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement a plan of care.
- Administers medications and ensures their accuracy.
- Communicates effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Teaches patients about their conditions and treatments.
- Maintains a safe work environment and reports safety concerns.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives and surveys.
Requirements
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing.
- One year of Med/Surg experience preferred.
- Current RN license in Texas.
- Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 90 days of employment.
