About the role
Fairview is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN. The ICU cares for patients with various acute and chronic conditions such as sepsis, renal disease, respiratory illnesses, overdoses, withdrawals, CVA’s, acute myocardial infarction, and pneumonia.
Responsibilities
- Assessing patient needs and identifying expected nursing outcomes
- Developing an individualized nursing plan of care
- Implementing interventions as needed during treatment based on the plan of care
- Evaluating care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes
- Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes
- Coinciding care with members of the health care team and delegating responsibilities to others as appropriate
- Demonstrating the ability to advance care by applying standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes
- Promoting a culture of evidence-based practice (EBP) by participating in a multitude of available opportunities
Requirements
- MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
- Current RN ICU experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- 2-5 years RN ICU experience
Skills
- Ability to assess patient needs and identify expected nursing outcomes
- Collaboration with patient, family, and other health team members to develop a nursing plan
- Development of an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition, and other relevant needs
- Evaluation of care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes
- Effective and respectful communication with the patient, family, and members of the health care team
- Utilization of standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes
- Promotion of a culture of evidence-based practice (EBP)

Pay
The pay rate within the posted range may be determined by various factors, including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization prioritizes pay equity and considers internal team equity when making any offer.
Schedule
This position is 0.75 FTE (60 hours per pay period), 12-hour night shifts, with a schedule that includes every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
