Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver compassionate, high-quality care that impacts patients' well-being and recovery. You will assess patients, perform skilled procedures, implement care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive, holistic, and effective care plans.
Responsibilities
- Provides effective, comprehensive evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes.
- Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient.
- Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure a comprehensive plan of care.
- Applies knowledge of current practice standards, guidelines, statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Demonstrates accountability for ethical behavior and supports ethical practice by addressing or escalating issues.
- Serves as a patient advocate.
- Completes patient assessments competently, assessing physical, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, discharge, and cultural needs.
- Develops an individualized plan of care based on assessment of the patient.
- Coordinates with other disciplines when indicated.
- Prioritizes care needs and sets measurable goals and time frames.
- Includes patient and family in the planning.
- Implements interventions based on nursing and medical plan of care.
- Manages patient population, diagnosis, and age-specific needs through appropriate adaptations of interventions.
- Appropriately utilizes equipment and supplies (following established policies, procedures, and protocols).
- Affirms the effectiveness of interventions after implementation and updates the plan of care to reflect current care needs.
- Recognizes and adapts to changes in patients' conditions (LOC change, vital signs, test results) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.
- Uses SBAR to notify physicians and other providers of clinical findings.
- Follows policies and procedures for contacting physicians regarding critical values.
- Uses appropriate resources and follows the chain of command.
- Recognizes limits of scope of practice and seeks multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Integrates and interprets multiple sources of data to make appropriate clinical decisions based on patient needs and desired outcomes.
Requirements
- Required: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
- Required: 1 year ICU acute care experience
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association
- Required: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification - American Heart Association
- Required: Basic or Advanced Dysrhythmia Certification
- Required: Crisis Prevention Institute Training (within 90 days from date of hire)
- Required: LA City Fire Safety Training (within 90 days from date of hire)
