About the role
Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. This multi-diagnosis ICU cares for critically ill patients 18 years and older. It sees approximately 8-10 open heart surgical patients per week, as well as other major surgical patients, acute respiratory failure, OD / withdrawal, medical and surgical neuro, and minimal trauma cases. Telemedicine ICU services are provided for the system, and the ICU takes care of patients with IABP, Impella, hypothermia therapy, and CRRT. However, patients requiring LVAD or ECMO are transferred to the University of MN.
Responsibilities
- Affirms patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
- Collaborates with patient, family, and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care.
- Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition, and other relevant needs.
- Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family, and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care.
- Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
- Promotes a culture of evidence-based practice (EBP).
Requirements
- MN Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross).
- Current RN ICU experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- One year RN ICU experience.

Pay
The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in your union agreement for the respective job classifications at the time of job posting. An individual's pay rate within this range may be influenced by various factors, including FTE, skills, knowledge, educational background, and qualifying experience as specified in the contract. If your role is eligible for a sign-on bonus, the bonus program that is approved and in place at the time of offer, is what will be honored.
Schedule
This position will be working .75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the night shift (7pm-7:30am). This position will also work a rotation for every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
