RN - Head Nurse ED

Job Summary The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a specific nursing department or unit. They utilize the nursing process to make clinical decisions, partnering with patients and families to promote health, restore, or maintain well-being. The role combines caring, compassion, knowledge, and integrity to deliver safe, high-quality care that respects patient autonomy and dignity. They provide clinical leadership to nursing staff, ensuring continuity of care aligned with hospital policies, mission, and goals. Collaboration with leadership and other disciplines is essential to identify improvement opportunities and implement change. Responsibilities Interpret and analyze diagnostic data relevant to patient conditions.Collaborate with leadership and other teams to enhance department performance.Provide guidance during life-threatening situations.Assess the effectiveness of interventions and outcomes.Implement innovative processes to improve patient results.Engage in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, mentoring, staffing, and performance evaluations.Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving healthcare delivery.Communicate effectively with team members to ensure quality patient care.Support ongoing learning and professional development.Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 2 years experience in the current or a similar setting/specialty.Computer literacy.RN licensure; BLS certification within 14 days of hire.Preferred: ACLS certification.
