About the Role

Agave Ridge Behavioral Health is hiring full-time Registered Nurses (RNs) for both day and night 12-hour shifts at our 100-bed, state-of-the-art facility in East Mesa. We support adults experiencing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and other acute mental health needs in a modern, supportive environment.

Safety is a priority: every team member carries a Personal Panic Alarm device for immediate support across all areas of the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans.
  • Maintain medical records and educate patients and their families about physical and behavioral health conditions.
  • Provide nursing care within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined by state regulations, facility policies, and corporate procedures.
  • Ensure physicians’ orders are legible if taken verbally and transcribed appropriately per policy.
  • Assess patients’ status on an ongoing basis, document pertinent information, and notify physicians of significant changes (e.g., detox difficulties, medical emergencies, medication responses).
  • Complete initial nursing treatment plans upon admission and ensure all plans are specific to assessed needs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and use of universal precautions in direct patient care.
  • Administer medications accurately per ordered notes and document controlled substance counts as required.
  • Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintain therapeutic rapport with patients by respecting boundaries, personal space, and providing direct attention while maintaining rational detachment.
  • Provide direction or coordinate unit activities as directed.
  • Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, co-workers, and others involved in treatment.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment or eligibility to practice nursing in accordance with state requirements.
  • One year of nursing experience; psychiatric, mental health, behavioral, or substance abuse nursing experience preferred.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
  • First aid certification may be required based on state or facility requirements.
