About the role

Corewell Health Taylor Hospital is a 148-bed, Magnet®-designated hospital that is a recognized health care leader in the metro Detroit area. Proudly serving Taylor and surrounding communities since 1977, it offers specialty services that include 24-hour emergency care, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a surgical pavilion, a pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, an inpatient rehabilitation facility and full-service radiology, including advanced CT with cardiac scoring, fixed MRI including pacemaker, cinema vision and ultrasound (MSK and elastography).

Responsibilities

The clinical nurse, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The Clinical Nurse provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Beaumont policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent – Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an associate’s degree or equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree – B.S.N., M.S.N., or DNP/PhD; if not minimum BSN prepared, new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience must enroll in an accredited BSN program within one (1) year of licensure date and complete within five (5) years (effective April 18, 2023).
• 2 years of relevant experience – 2 years related acute care nursing experience; must demonstrate proficiency through competency testing in all nursing areas eligible for floating.
• Internal candidates with less than 2 years of clinical experience must be approved by their current nurse leader and the site Chief Nursing Officer; they remain a unit-based PRN (casual) employee until reaching 2 years of nursing experience.
• LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) – State of Michigan (Upon Hire).
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA, ARC, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation (Upon Hire).
• CRT-Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA (Upon Hire); exceptions for Endoscopy (Dearborn, Farmington Hills, Taylor) or Radiology, Pre-Op, PACU, Emergency Care, Critical Care (180 Days).
• CRT-Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – ENA, Emergency Care (1 Year).
• CRT-Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) – ENA, Emergency Care (1 Year).
• CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA, Mother Baby Care, Family Birth Center, NICU (180 Days).
• CRT-Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – AHA, Pediatrics (1 Year) or Pre-Op, PACU (180 Days).
• CRT-Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification (C-EFM) – NCC, Family Birth Center (1 Year).

Schedule

Part time, Night shift, Weekly scheduled hours: 12 hours (1900‑07:30), Days worked variable, Weekend frequency variable.
