About the role
RN - Float Pool (Resource Team) responsible for providing high-quality, individualized nursing care across inpatient units at Swedish Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Float across inpatient units, report to Clinical Nurse Manager with dual support from site-based managers.
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care following nursing standards and evidence-based practices.
- Supervise and guide nursing staff, promote safety, and maintain thorough documentation.
- Contribute to professional development and adhere to ethical and safety standards.
- Maintain current competencies and demonstrate effective communication skills.
- Perform emergency actions as needed and support a safe therapeutic environment.
- Cover weekend night shifts (7:00 pm - 7:00 am)
- Float to inpatient units
- Provide personalized patient care
- Support staff development
Qualifications and Skills
- At least one year of acute care inpatient RN experience.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current Illinois Nursing license and CPR certification.
- Mastery of nursing skills, effective communication, and leadership abilities.
- ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications may be required depending on unit needs.
