About the role

  • Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Shifts: Rotating Days (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) and Nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
  • Weekend rotation included
  • Units Supported: Medical/Surgical and Telemetry

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment
  • Assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patients' care
  • Implements and/or administers all prescribed testing, medications, and/or protocols appropriately and in compliance with established standards
  • Ensures all pertinent patient/family education has been provided
  • Develops, updates, and coordinates the patients' plan of care to achieve patient goals and optimize outcomes
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate
  • Performs and maintains the currency of essential competencies as required by a specific area of hire and population served
  • Advocates for ethical and holistic care by partnering in care planning to promote autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs
  • Fosters a learning environment for patients/families, nursing, and other members of the healthcare team
  • Facilitates formal and informal learning for patients/families, nursing, and the community
  • Aligns practice with safety and quality by integrating evidence and best practice into nursing care
  • Uses data and evidence to improve patient outcomes
  • Engages in ongoing professional development and practices at the top of license within legal parameters
  • Promotes a culture of inquiry that explores, integrates, and disseminates research and evidence-based practice
  • Demonstrates leadership as change agents using collaborative leadership skills
  • Appropriately delegates, coordinates care, and collaborates with others as equal members of the inter-professional care team
  • Models professional behaviors as a representative of the nursing profession
  • Participates in the planning and presentation of educational programs
  • Proficiency in information technology, such as electronic health records and communication systems
  • Works effectively with a wide range of staff as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Uses independent, critical judgment in all aspects of patient care delivery
  • Manages multiple responsibilities, urgent responses, and challenging situations

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse currently licensed in the state of employment
  • At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse, or transitioned from the Newly Licensed Registered Nurse Residency (NLRN) Program
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS is unit dependent
  • BSN in Nursing preferred
  • Specialty Certification preferred

Pay

The pay for this position ranges from $38.34-$54.80 per hour.
