RN - Float Pool Registered Nurse
The Mercy registered nurse must hold an active license to practice nursing in the state of Iowa. A baccalaureate degree in nursing and certification by a nationally recognized nursing organization is preferred and strongly encouraged.
About the role
MercyOne Dubuque is the leading hospital in the tri-states, offering the only comprehensive cardiology center and Level II regional neonatal intensive care unit in the area as well as the newly constructed MercyOne Dubuque Cancer Center. Other services include a trauma center, a CARF-accredited inpatient rehabilitation unit, orthopedics, retail pharmacies, palliative care and a wide range of outpatient and community services. MercyOne operates two hospital-based skilled nursing units and a 40-bed nursing home.
Responsibilities
- Continuous improvement of professional nursing practice

Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Active license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa
- Certification by a nationally recognized nursing organization is preferred and strongly encouraged
- Continuous seeking of opportunities to enhance professional nursing practice
- Membership in an appropriate professional nursing organization is recommended
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in nursing
- Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter
- Basic Life Support Certification within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter
