RN - Float Pool

About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital, a Magnet‑recognized institution, as a Float Pool Registered Nurse. You will support diverse patient populations across multiple departments and locations within the Cleveland Clinic system, gaining experience in nearly every specialty area of healthcare. The role involves direct interaction with patients and families, enhancing their experience and providing health education throughout the care journey.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.

Minimum qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• If assigned to a Critical Care area, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be presented upon hire or within the first year.
• One year of current acute‑care RN experience or licensed military RN experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical requirements

• Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination.
• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Potential exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.
• Medium work: exerting 20–50 lb occasionally, 10–25 lb frequently, and up to 10 lb constantly to move objects.
• Use of standard precautions and personal protective equipment as required.

Pay

Hourly range: $35.50 – $55.60. The actual compensation will consider work history, experience, skill set, and education, and does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of the benefits package.

Schedule

Night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with weekend and holiday requirements.
