RN-ER - OMC Baton Rouge Emergency Department - PRN, Nights (7P-7A)

About the role

We are seeking a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. This role involves effectively delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members, ensuring quality patient outcomes, and maintaining involvement in activities aimed at achieving unit and departmental strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
• Affirms learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient groups.
• Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) appropriately, serving as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
• Utilizes data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
• Adapts behavior to specific patient populations, including respecting privacy, explaining services or procedures, requesting permissions, and adjusting communication style.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Education: Registered nurse diploma.
• Work Experience: Preferred - Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Certifications: Current RN license in state of practice, current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, CPI Certification within 30 days of hire, ACLS within 90 days of hire, PALS within 90 days of hire. Certification in Advanced Clinical Specialty Area preferred.
