Overview
PRN III schedule with a minimum of 9 shifts per 6-week period at Piedmont Eastside SOUTH Campus Emergency Dept in Snellville, GA. Join an 11-bed emergency department providing timely, compassionate care for adult and pediatric patients with emergency and life-threatening conditions. Responsibilities
- Function independently to assess, triage, plan, implement, and evaluate care for adult and pediatric patients in an 11-bed Emergency Department.
- Provide intervention in critical care, emergency, and life-threatening situations.
- Function as a preceptor, mentor, and relief charge nurse as needed.
- Perform patient assessments including collection of data regarding physical, psychosocial, and health history.
- Appropriately evaluate the developmental age of the patient when performing assessments, treatments, and patient/family education.
- Organize patient data into a plan of care; identify additional information needed and make care decisions based on identified needs; identify expected patient outcomes.
- Carry out plan of care to achieve desired patient outcomes; ensure care is appropriate to the severity of the disease, condition, impairment, or disability.
- Oversee activities of ancillary and support team members.
- Identify teaching opportunities and provide resources necessary for achieving educational goals of patients.
- Communicate issues/concerns to Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, and/or physician as appropriate.
- Document patient care and concerns in the patient record.
Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
- No experience required; new graduates of a nursing program eligible (Required)
- Nursing experience in hospital setting (Preferred)
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions (Preferred)
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure (Required)
- BCLS - Basic Life Support (Required)
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable
